Transfer the content from your personal account to a NEW Professional account. This process is to be used if you start a new professional account that JUST CONTAINS SAMPLE DATA.
If you are CHANGING your existing account from a personal account to a Professional account use the 'Convert your single user......' process.
Before Starting, make sure the destination Professional account has been purchased and is working.
It's very simple to test if it is working. On your i-Device attempt to login without making any changes to MyTalk in Settings. Specifically, don't add a Board Name in Settings. This is the error you will receive and it indicates that you now have a professional version.
Let's get started transferring your boards, from your personal account to a NEW professional Multi Home Board account.
Go to the the web MyTalk Login screen and log in to your newly created Professional account.
The key difference between the Multi Home Board Professional account and an individual account is the Home Board on Workspace. In a professional account, the home board is not a home board at all, it's a list of students, patients, clients, classes, etc. It's just a list, and this list will never appear on any iPad, iPod, iPhone. But the board immediately below, the child board, will show up as the home board on your iDevice.
For example, if your (Professional Multi Home Board Account) Workspace Home Board had three cells including Mary, Bill, and Michael, before entering MyTalk on your mobile device, you would go to Settings and enter either Mary, Bill, or Michael as the 'Board Name' in Settings. Now when you enter MyTalk up would pop just that student's home board.
To start with this NEW account we must delete all of the current default content and replace with users. If you want to save the sample content instead of deleting it, see the tutorial How do I copy cells. If deleting, Select the "Delete cell" button found in each cell to clear this main board.
Within Workspace, a board must contain at least one cell. We are unable to delete ALL cells of the default content. To continue, add a cell using the "Add Cell" button (bottom left of Layout view) then delete the final cell, leaving only the newly added cell.
You should now be left with a single cell with no content. This will be the first MultiBoard cell for your Professional account. Highlight the text in this cell and enter the User Name of the account that you want to import into the Professional account. In this example, we will enter "YourAccount". Be sure to enter the User Name of the account you are importing. It is case sensitive.
Next, select the "Add child board" cell at the bottom right of the cell. This is required before we move on to the iDevice portion of the tutorial.
Look below to see the 'organization chart' icon at the bottom right of the cell. It indicates a child board. Your child board should only have the one cell that appears when you create a child board.
Now you have your first student/patient/client cell called "YourAccount" in our example.
You could add cells for other individual students/patients/clients but for now, we will focus on downloading your content from the other account to this account using the "YourAccount" cell as the destination.
Next, we will need to enter MyTalkMobile on an iDevice. On your iDevice, tap Settings.
Within Settings tap MyTalkTools. Enter "YourAccount" into the Board Name field. Be mindful that this is case sensitive. Later, when you have many students/patients/clients listed on your professional home board in Workspace, this is where you will enter their Board Name before a therapy session, bringing up specific client boards.
After entering the proper board name, press the Home button on your iDevice.
Sign in using your new Professional account User Name and password.
You will now be presented with a blank single cell board. This is the single cell of the child board you created under the "YourAccount" board in Workspace.
Next we sync content from your original account. Select the "Merge" button at the bottom right of the screen.
Select "Overwrite From Sample" .
Enter your personal account's User Name in the text field titled "Enter Sample Name". Again, this is a case sensitive.
When you enter your original User Name and select 'OK', content (boards) from your original account will begin to sync to your new Professional Multi Home Board account.
Success! After the sync completes, your data will now reside in both your original account and in the new professional account. The accounts ARE NOT linked. Your original account remains in-tact and this account is now stand alone. Updates to one will not update the other.
Complete the process: Workspace still contains just one cell below 'YourAccount'. To complete the process, you will now do a Sync / Overwrite Workspace moving all of the content now located on your iDevice up to the new professional Workspace account.
That completes the process and you are ready to add another student.
