With IOS releases starting about 2105 App Developers including the MyTalk team started getting occasional complaints about sound problems with their apps. Since the problem is occasional but impacts many applications, there has been a lot of chatter on the internet and support forums. The sound problems are rare with MyTalk and normally solved with these simple steps.

Cold Boot your i-Device: Shut down your device for one minute, turn it back on, then re-start MyTalk.
Delete MyTalk, then re-download from the App Store:
If none of those 3 solutions work it may be the IOS issues being experienced by others. Go to this link, and walk through the suggestions,
BUT DO NOT USE SUGGESTION "4. Restore the iPad to Factory Settings" BEFORE TRYING SUGGESTIONS 5 THROUGH 9, INCLUDING THE LINK ON ITEM 9.
You must be comfortable with the backup procedures before trying the 'restore' option.
