We hear this question a lot. Many professionals including SLP's, OT's, PT's, special ed teacher and caretakers only have a single client that is a MyTalk candidate. Why can't I just use my free account for my single client, student, or patient?
Do that to get started, incorporating you end-user's personal content to encourage engagement. Once engagement is accomplished and your end-user makes a selection, it is time to move to a paid version. Our gift to you as a professional is for evaluations, training and demonstration with the intent to promote initial engagement. Our mission is to change the world, enabling those who cannot afford traditional solutions to have a voice. We reach them through you, a trained professional who understands evaluations, needs assessments and feature matching because there is not better evaluator than you and others like you, around the world.
MyTalk is doing something others do not do, finding a way to give our solution to you without cost. Because of that we are starting to reach the 85%+ who have not had the good fortune of having an AAC device or a professional to support them.
We hope you appreciate our approach, and encourage you to watch for the moment that your end-user engages. At that moment, counsel with parents, the school, or other funding sources to purchase MyTalkTools Mobile for that end user. To enable your continued remote support, the school, family or other funding source should purchase Workspace for your use. Remember that your free 'Workspace Family' account belongs to you personally. The family, school or other institution should want to own Workspace in case you would move on to other opportunities. You will use the new account, but keep your personal Family account as your portfolio of boards. To learn more about portfolio building, see 'Library sharing' in the 'Support Professional Guide' section of our Support site.
Sure it's technically feasible to use your free account, but please don't let the coincidence of a single end user, limit MyTalk's ability to continue to spread the word about our low cost solution. We believe we are doing the right thing, trying to reach those who could otherwise not afford a solution. We ask for your support.
