Dual personal boards: school and home - great benefits!
I just want to say how much I love MyTalk and the Workspace. But we were faced with a dilema at school after I had spent so much time creating a home board in Workspace and I had just bought the year subscription. We just started using the ipod at school for communication and at school they wanted our daughter who is five to start with a real simple board. She has Angelman Syndrome and does not speak.
So now the dilema - I didn't want to delete everything I had created. I was trying to run the lite version for school and the full version for home. That wasn't working. So I emailed Bick and he suggested I download the professional version which allows you to have more than one board. That solved my problem perfectly!! So now there is only one Mytalk app on the screen. But you can switch your settings simply and when she is ready for school put the school board up and when she gets home switch the settings again and get the home board up.
Eventually we hope to marry these two boards together but for now this was the best way to do it. She loves her home board and has so much content in it that going cold turkey and simplifing it would've been really devestating for her. So this is the best of both worlds. Bick is sooo helpful with any questions and it is so simple to author and change in workspace. I just love how you can navigate with workspace and see everything. It is such a great idea and I couldn't do it without it. So thank you to Bick for creating such a great product and for being so hands on and even answering emails and questions personally! Who does that??!

Thanks for your kind words Karen. Keep us posted as things progress. Funny that once again we didn't guess right. We build the professional version for the support community, schools, etc. and so far we have found two families who want the professional version for things we had not thought about. And we haven't even launched it yet. Thanks and stay in touch.
